The Pamlico Writers Conference and Competition is co-sponsored by the Arts of The Pamlico and the Pamlico Writers Group in Washington, North Carolina and is committed to the belief in the importance of communicating the art of literature. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization under the umbrella of Arts of the Pamlico.

Our mission is:

1. To create an opportunity for published and unpublished writers to improve their art through workshops, networking, and critiques with professional authors, editors, agents, book designers, and publishers.
2. To encourage the development and use of marketing skills and strategies.
3. To provide a platform for adult writers to share their work through juried competition.
4. To sponsor a separate competition for high school students, encouraging development and refinement of creative writing.
